The Sony presentation reminded gamers at every turn that playing on a PS4 can get you early access to many of the upcoming year's most highly-anticipated titles. Consumers will need to connect to the PlayStation Network after purchasing the Ultimate Evil Edition to redeem the PlayStation Exclusive goodies.įrom unique armor and early access to playable characters (the Hulk in Disney Infinity for example) to alpha access and early beta access, exclusivity seems to have been a major goal for Sony at this year's E3. The Guise of the Colossi appearances will be available to all of the Diablo hero classes, including the recently added Crusader. The Guise of the Colossi transmog plans allow users to access six armor appearances inspired by the classic PS2 game. Playing D3 on a Sony console will give users the opportunity to unlock a unique set of transmogrification plans. In addition to The Last of Us Nephalem Rift challenge, the Sony bundle will also offer players a chance to get nostalgic over the PS2 era by paying homage to one of the console's greatest games, Shadow of the Colossus. Some of the new mobs include creatures modeled after the Stalker, Clicker, and even the disgusting Bloated infected. For PS3 and PS4 owners, that randomized content will now include some very familiar zombies and an ominous yellow spore effect. Rifts provide random content to face the heroes with a unique and rewarding challenge. The Rifts are special dungeons, formerly known as Loot Runs, that can be accessed via the Nephalem Altar.
Heroes fighting for the Sanctuary on a Sony console will experience content inspired by The Last of Us and Shadow of the Colossus when the game is released on August 19.Īs a special treat to fans of The Last of Us, the Diablo port developers teamed up with Naughty Dog to create a PlayStation exclusive Nephalem Rift. The Ultimate Evil Edition for the PS4 and PS3 offers unique content to Sony gamers inspired by both a new and old PlayStation exclusive IP. Although the bundle will be available on multiple systems, the team at Sony has some pretty tempting exclusive content on the table to draw dungeon crawlers over to the PlayStation camp.
Starting later this summer, console gamers will begin to see the improvements brought on board with the expansion when the Ultimate Evil Edition is released for new and old platforms. With the launch of the first major expansion, Reaper of Souls, Diablo 3 put things back on the right track and PC players couldn't ask for much more. It's no secret that Diablo 3 stumbled through a rocky start with server issues and a failed approach to reinvent the in-game auction house system, but despite all of its technical problems there was a great game buried in there.
